Topic: Using 20lb Propane Tank with Mr. Buddy Heater???  (Read 15164 times)

Ok, I am getting tired of burning through 1lb propane tank with my Mr. Buddy heater.  It hasn't been that common cold and I go through (2) 1lb bottles a twenty-four hours. So, I am going to use my 20lb tanks.  For those who utilise 20lb tanks, do you keep the the tank within the shack with you?  Or exercise you get out it outside the shack and run the hose underneath (or through an opening) the shack?

Whatever advice or applied experience would be appreciated.

I go out the tank outside and use a mr heater filter screwed onto the heater inlet.

It seems to go from zilch to hero all some have to do is lie.

I leave the 20lb tank outside and run the hose underneath in my fish house.

Don't try to change me, my married woman said that's her job.

The hose I bought indicates I don't need a filter, but I estimate it couldn't hurt.  Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply.  Leaving information technology outside will definitely free upwardly more space inside the shack.

Out side. A twenty pound tank has a relief valve if information technology blows in side it'due south going to be ugly. :nono:

The hose I bought indicates I don't need a filter, but I guess it couldn't injure.  Thanks for the reply.

If information technology is a black hose I would use a filter. Unless things have changed, the green Mr Heater hose doesn't need a filter.

It seems to go from zippo to hero all some have to do is lie.

i likewise use a filter and get out it exterior of the shanty

If it is a black hose I would utilize a filter. Unless things accept inverse, the greenish Mr Heater hose doesn't demand a filter.

It is the Mr. Heater brand hose.  I should be expert to go.

And they call information technology a green hose only it is a blackness colored hose. I call up they merely sell information technology in ten foot lengths. I run my dark-green hose with no filter and take non had a problem in over six years. I use a 5 pound tank Exterior of the shanty.

How exercise you like using the five lb tanks?  Do you bring more than than one with y'all when you exit?

Information technology must be something in the water.

Employ a fiver on my Buddy. Goes a couple of days in my Evo two. A lot easier than a twenty. Fuel has more space to vaporize, doesn't freeze up the tank.

I use a 11 lb tank and keep information technology in side.  Works great and lasts a long time.

The "Mr heater buddy series hose" is 10' long, is green and is the one specified to be ok to use without a filter. I believe a filter needs to be used with the black hoses since they can release oils and other impurities when nether pressure which can cause the heater to malfunction. The Big Buddy hose has a regulator on the tank terminate and so the hose isn't nether high pressure and doesn"t demand a filter.. Some folks use the black hose without a filter with no problems. Not so in my situation. Mr Heater suggests replacing the filter annually.

Information technology seems to go from zero to hero all some take to do is lie.

Tin y'all elaborate on this?  I don't understand the differences between the 20 and v lb tanks and how they would exhibit unlike characteristics.

How do you like using the 5 lb tanks?  Do you bring more than i with y'all when you get out?

It is the just mode to become if you lot inquire me. The only downwardly side is the price they run about 50 dollars. But it only cost about four.l to refill at my local Uhaul truck rental. I tin can run my buddy heater over 12 hours on loftier with information technology so I only bring one. If yous need a longer run time they sell a eleven pound tank besides. Salvage that 20 pound tank for the BBQ grill!

Difference between the 1 lb and five.  The small one will freeze upwards when cold.

Thought that was what I said. ;)

Information technology seems to go from nix to hero all some have to do is lie.

It is the only manner to go if you ask me. The only down side is the price they run nearly l dollars. Merely information technology only cost virtually four.l to refill at my local Uhaul truck rental. I can run my buddy heater over 12 hours on loftier with it and so I only bring i. If you demand a longer run time they sell a 11 pound tank equally well. Save that xx pound tank for the BBQ grill!

The price at my local Tractor Supply is about $two.60 to fill up up, and they only charge for what they put in.

leaving a xx pounder outside is saving more space inside , a hole simply big enough for the hose to fit through the wall with a condom flap to cover information technology when asunder and store the tank within when not in use.

The cost at my local Tractor Supply is about $ii.lx to make full up, and they simply accuse for what they put in.

Thanks for the heads upward. I idea I was getting a deal. The local propane place charges $10 and thats a flat rate even if its almost total.
